Poetic Art From The Heart ~ Finding Beauty In Truth
If you know that
it is done
the story has already been written,
the happy ending is a fact
and at your heart’s desire destination
you will arrive,
you can enjoy the journey
and relax
©RoseGirl2019
I can never compete with tomorrow
I always lose
No matter how much I love you today
No matter how much my heart
overflows with love now
and how it expands with every beat,
just because you are inside,
it will always be less than tomorrow
for each day I love you more
©RoseGirl2019
At night when the dark
creeps in
If I need to talk,
need to write
to someone
will your eyes read,
will your heart listen
and reassure me
by sending me love
that all is well
and there’s nothing
wrong with me
©RoseGirl2019
My Christmas gift to you
is a little poem
Each letter carefully dipped
in love
In every word I put a little
of me
Hold it against your chest
It will warm you
in cold Christmas times
©RoseGirl2019
It’s so easy to lose ourselves
in the little pieces of you and me
in a piece of sadness, a piece of fear
But as we put all those pieces together
Light pieces, dark pieces
Pieces of you and me in all
the colours of the rainbow,
We see the bigger picture
We see a beautiful mosaic
©RoseGirl2019
When the day is at its darkest
and we cannot see,
our hearts take over
to touch and hold each other
in sacred inner stillness
And as we merge from within,
we let the light of love be born
with which we create ourselves anew
©RoseGirl2019
I listen to your silence
and I hear the unsaid
I hear all your
unspoken words
and I Iisten even deeper
I hear your soul song sing
and how it harmonizes
with mine
I listen to your silence
and let it speak, let it
sing to me
And I hear the orchestra
of your heart,
your uncensored voice
of wisdom
So don’t be afraid, my love
if your throat cannot voice
For even a silence
cannot silence you
You’ll always
still be heard by me
©RoseGirl2019
We tried to fit
into the ordinary
Though we were
never meant for it
Instead,
we were meant for
extraordinary love

The poetess holds her head
in her hands and sighs
The angel of inspiration
looks at her and asks:
What’s the matter, my dear?
The poetess answers:
What if I am not important
What if my words are not important?
The angel smiles:
You are just you
Words are just words
It’s the ego
that tends to value
and to categorize
Words are everything
and they are nothing
at the same time
They are all as well
important as unimportant
For it is the hand
of the writer
that makes the poem
meaningful
Only you can give
meaning to yourself
©RoseGirl2019
When my waters flow strongly
Let your arms be my dikes
that hold me
and that keep me into place
©RoseGirl2019
And sometimes it’s good
to put down the pen
to take a pause
and be like the white
of the paper
and hold space
to receive the words
And instead of only
sending love out,
letting love in,
letting you in
To open the blinds
before my heart
and let the rays of your sun
shine its love letters
on my inside
©RoseGirl2019
If people can’t see you,
can’t hear you, can’t feel you
Then see, hear, feel yourself
©RoseGirl2019
When I’m so tired
of a world full of noise
all I want is
to lay my head
on your chest
To unplug the world
and be only plugged
into your heart
©RoseGirl2019
Do you long for home
like me
For our bodies to connect
Our arms to entwine
Our eyes to lock
Sometimes it feels so close
that you can already taste it,
smell it, sense it
As if you only need to reach out
your hand to open the door
And at times the mind may
fool the physical eyes
and it may look like home is
miles away, a world apart
And the journey seems so long
and exhausting
You seem lost and you wonder
how long it yet will take
And sometimes, it feels like
you have arrived
and you are home
You feel me, I feel you
As if we’re already there
And you taste me, I taste you
You smell me, I smell you
In the arms of the heart
we have enclosed each other
Home is here, my love
It is waiting for us
Do not let your mind,
your eyes fool you
But feel it, taste it, smell it
and our feet, our hands,
our arms, our eyes will follow
©RoseGirl2019
Our love is like a free bird
that flies high and gracefully
in the sky
We couldn’t catch it
We couldn’t cage it in our hearts
But instead, we had to break
free from the chains,
from what held us down
We had to grow our own wings,
rise above ourselves and
surrender to the wind
Just like our love,
we had to become
free birds as well
©RoseGirl2019
Let’s stop with all the
past tense, past participle
and future tense verbs nonsense
For life only happens
in the present
©RoseGirl2019
When the love has grown so great
that no word can even come close
to describe it accurately
and every word in fact only detracts,
then it is better to leave the rest
of the page blank
©RoseGirl2019
I chose many things
many people and situations
When I was a small kid
I chose to be a good girl
I chose to be loyal to my father
even when he physically
and emotionally abused me
I chose to be loyal to my mother
even when she didn’t choose me
I chose to take care of her
even when that meant
that I couldn’t be a child myself
I chose to be loyal to my teachers
and to be the best student
so I wouldn’t disappoint
I chose to be loyal to my husband
even when I didn’t truly love him
and he beat the hell out of me
I chose to be a good friend
to always reach out an helping hand
even when I had nothing left to offer
I chose many things,
many people and situations
But somehow in the process
I forgot to choose myself
so I couldn’t be chosen by others
©RoseGirl2019
My heart bursts with poetry
that doesn’t want
to be put in words on a paper
but that just wants
to dance, love, feel its way
straight to your heart
©RoseGirl2019
The mind fears distance
The mind fears time
Whereas the heart
knows no separation
The heart knows
only infinite love
©RoseGirl2019
Every time
I see a picture of you
I smile a smile of
a thousand rays of love
©RoseGirl2019
I like to write and write and write
All day long and even at night
I wake up to take pen and paper
But maybe, it is not about the words
and producing many poems
But it’s more about being in the flow
of creation
to connect to my muse even deeper
and to dance love wherever I go
©RoseGirl2019
The full moon,
I don’t look for her outside
But I find her within me
as a glowing ball
inside my heart
that is lit up
by your internal sun
And I feel the tension
between those two
the attraction, the pull
deep love
Your sun, my moon
perfectly aligned
Together we can light
the whole world
©RoseGirl2019
I’m eating your chocolate now
The chocolate that I had bought
especially for you
I’m so sorry, but it wanted to be eaten
and could not wait for you any longer
I really had to help the chocolate out
But just close your eyes and imagine
How you taste it through my senses
The hazelnut chocolate that is hard at first
Then melts so sweetly in the mouth
Just sense this heavenly burst
of taste, touch and smell
How it glides over the tongue
How it dances up and down
and back and forth
But hey, my darling,
don’t be so greedy
Is this still me and the chocolate
Or are we actually French kissing?!
©RoseGirl2019
P.S. I will buy new chocolate
for you, I promise
And if necessary (probably it is)
I will buy it again and again,
no problem
Staying strong is not
like being a tough rock
or an armoured knight
But it’s like a tree
that bends with its branches
in the wind
A ship that moves
with the tides
It’s being in the midst of a storm
But having your eyes focused
on the bright horizon
in the distance
It’s feeling all the emotions
with a soft and open heart
Being the space for the waves
to rise and fall
And yet keeping both feet firmly
on the ground
©RoseGirl2019
I am my own fan
and have joined
my own exclusive fan club
I’m curious to know
everything about myself
I follow my own butt
everywhere I go
Whenever I’m down,
I cheer myself up
I read all my poetry
and never skip
a single word
And like a real fan,
even on off-days,
I tell myself
how amazing I am
(which can sometimes
be pretty annoying)
©RoseGirl2019
You handed me a gift
It was wrapped in several
layers of paper
It took me many years
to unpack it
At times, when I took off a layer
and I got a glimpse of
what could be inside,
I got scared
and again, quickly covered it
At times, I even put it aside
stored it on a hidden shelf
But it always seemed to
catch my attention
and to demand my
devotion and courage
The more layers I removed,
the softer it felt
and the more love glowed
from inside
Until I was brave enough
to fully face it,
to not run away from it no more
Until my eyes were strong enough
to handle its brightness
Until my mind had become
humble enough to serve
Then I took off the last layer
I saw that you had gifted me
my own heart in all its beauty
and purity
You had made me unpack
its ability to love wholly and fully
And there, I found you inside
©RoseGirl2019
I am your silky soft paper
Write your words on me
Kiss them one by one
slowly onto my lips
Breathe them into my heart
Draw ornate letters
with your tongue
Let the ink flow abundantly
on my body
And make me quiver with
touching poetry
from head to toe
and soul deep
©RoseGirl2019
She looked at her beloved, her king
Then looked at herself and said:
You seem to have so much
and I seem to have so little
The words with which I build
my poems are not perfect
My house of poetry
doesn’t look perfect either
Does that make you
a big tall tree
on your high throne
for everyone to see
and to be admired
and me just a small wild rose
hidden in the grass
The king kneeled
down before her,
took her hands and smiled:
You don’t have little
You have the whole world
inside of you
We both are two tall trees
that reach for the sky
and dance gracefully in the wind
And we are two wild roses
that colour the fields
with their love
It is not about the perfect words,
the perfect clothes
with which you dress
yourself up
But it’s about the light
that shines through,
it’s the heart
that makes a queen,
it’s the heart
that makes a perfect poem
©RoseGirl2019
There seem to be
many matters:
Personal matters
Complicated matters
Important matters
No laughing matters
Great matters
of the mind
But in the end
those matters
don’t really matter
for it all truly is
only a matter of love
©RoseGirl2019
When I was a child
I was the strange bird
in the nest
I didn’t fit in, I didn’t belong
I always imagined and hoped
that my family wasn’t
my real family
And one day my real parents
would come for me
to save me from the nightmare
in which I grew up
But no one came,
the nightmare continued
Was I then completely alone
in this world,
I wondered for a long time
Until I met you
and you woke me up
And I saw that mother earth
had always carried me
Father heaven had protected me
The angels had my back
as my family
And I had and have you
always by my side
©RoseGirl2019
And together we are sweet
like chocolate
We melt in each other’s eyes
and in each other’s arms
We have that sweet taste of love
©RoseGirl2019
I always knew
But suddenly I felt it
How sensitive
your heart truly is
Transparent, fragile,
Of breathtaking purity
Colourful and healing
like crystal
I never felt anything more
beautiful than your heart
And I understood
why you had needed
to protect it
©RoseGirl2019
As this is forever love,
why then worry about ever,
worry about what happened,
and what may yet come
For in the light of forever
all temporary worries
will instantly be burned away
©RoseGirl2019
A heart that storms, that rains,
that waves, that cries, that yearns,
that moves, that longs
As it is pulled
to you so strongly
that it could jump
out of my chest
over the ocean
to go to you on its own
©RoseGirl2019
And she said:
Who am I
Am I a poetess
Is it useful to write
Do my words contribute
anything
to anyone,
to a better world
Is it enough
Am I enough
Who am I
And he said:
Your words are
a pure expression
of your soul
A gift from the heavens
Cherish it
Express yourself
as much as you can
To remind others of
their true essence
Your words are the stars
in the sky
If you don’t know
who you are,
Remember, how I looked
you into your eyes
How I mirrored you
your purest self
Remember my gaze
and know
that you are love
and that is your purpose
©RoseGirl2019
Late at night
do you hear me tell you
all my stories
the ones that are only
meant for you
The princess
that finds her prince
The knight
that finds his lady
Sweet good night tales
that lullaby you
magically to sleep
Only to wake you up
to our dreamland
©RoseGirl2019
Maybe, I don’t need to go anywhere
I don’t need to travel to other places
I don’t need to do anything
I don’t need to fix or solve,
earn or achieve
I don’t even need to make
or write poetry
But I can just be
I can just feel
I can just breathe
and exist
And I will still be okay
I will still be valuable
I will still be loved by you
©RoseGirl2019
Your fingers glide over the guitar
I close my eyes
And hear you play
the most beautiful sunrise
over a land far away
And I see the golden light
delicately streamed
by your fingers
as you play on the strings
of your heart
and let its rays caress me
And I feel you
How I feel you
Could we be more intimate,
more vulnerable like this
Your naked tune
that finds its way into me
And you go deeper and deeper
When the soul makes love
through the heart
time and space,
even the boundaries of a body
fall away
©RoseGirl2019
When magic meets magic
When your magical existence
comes together with mine
what an outburst of magic
that is
When all becomes possible
we’ll be in Wonderland
all the time
©RoseGirl2019
Don’t cry for me, Lisboa
Although I didn’t visit you for a while
Bright city at the river Tagus
You remind me too much of my beloved
and all that is missing
Memories are captured in every tile
Tales have nowhere to go
I have been lost in your streets
and I was nowhere to find
I don’t want to make the Tagus
overflow with my tears
Or fixate the horizon
with my yearning gaze
But don’t cry for me, Lisboa
Wait for me instead
Keep me and my beloved alive
Honour us in your brightness,
in your poetry, in your fado songs
Pray for us in your churches
Cheer on us in the castle
Shine your light on in our hearts
Each night in my dreams
I dance with my beloved in your alleys
We make love under your stars
And one day, when fate aligns
I will return, I promise
to once again pick me and my beloved up
©RoseGirl2019
While reading your journal
you wrote me right into your heart
Where I walked together with you
on your journey
Every step I was by your side
Holding your hand
Crying your tears
Watching the sunrise
Hearing the heavenly music
of the sacred land
Seeing beyond and into other worlds
where spirits guide us
Feeling your roots growing into the earth
and receiving the blessing
Reaching a place of emotions
where words cannot come
Welcome home, my love
to the magic
of your own pure heart
©RoseGirl2019
When I see a picture of you
and can’t write a poem about it
as the picture is of such
beauty and vulnerability
that every word would detract
from the image that already is
pure poetry itself
©RoseGirl2019
And he said:
Love yourself as much
as you love me
You don’t want to hurt me,
then don’t hurt yourself
Don’t put yourself down
don’t judge yourself harshly
But talk to yourself
the way you write poetry
about me
and let your own dancing words
heal you from inside
©RoseGirl2019
Come home to yourself
Build up your own house
Discover every room
Own every spot
of who you are
For only there,
you will be at home
with me
©RoseGirl2019
