filled me with its tingling starlight
touched me into my deepest depth

made me a goddess

is just an empty shot of
unsatisfying pleasure
Whereas true passion
can be found
when two souls make love
to each other
and merge
deeply connected,
equally balanced

that shines on my skin
and makes it glow and tingle
I feel your touch

I watch trains arrive and leave
Passengers come and go
People walk into my life
and then all of a sudden
they are gone

Clouds float by
Time passes
Seasons change
Birds fly over
Poems find their way to me

And even we are not the same

when we first met
Much did we learn
But what is consistent
is the love that bonds us
as its only change is growth

How lucky you are
to be the one and only star

while I let my poems

My garden bare
Words hidden
Pain goes underground
and deep
Then will you be my Spring?
that melts the dark and cold

warm and soft

to come out to blossom

Alliteration was lazy
and already from the start
didn’t want to pull
the poetry train
Assonance and consonance
and even perfect rhyme,
they all refused and complained

So then we decided
to step off the poetry train
And just roll in rhythm together
in the wordless, vibrant fields
of this hot sunny Sunday

I’ve written in several languages
poetically about you
Most in English as it is
the language we share
But I also wrote in German,
and in melodic, sensual French
I took you into a fado song
and called you ‘o meu amor’
in Portuguese
And in Dutch, my native language,
you are ‘mijn lieverd’ and ‘mijn lieveling’
And maybe, one day I’ll also write
in Spanish and in Italian

From all the single languages
I’ll take the best words,
the most beautiful
timbres and colours
But still, the best language
to express myself to you
is the palpable language of love
