A curtain of teardrops before my eyes
And I fall into Fall again
The same pain,
the same cycle
So close and yet
so far away
Bonded in sadness
we are
connected in our broken hearts
And now it’s my turn
to wait for the sun
to show its face
again

and covering my
wounded heart
I don’t want to see
don’t want to be seen
by eyes
other than yours

I once thought
that there was an ocean between us
A wall that divided common ground
And that I needed to send ships
and airplanes
to reach you on the other side
of where I was
But now I know
there never was an other side
and no other place
And if there is an ocean between us
there is only an ocean of love

Lead me to a place
I’ve always known
Into the haven of your heart
Anchor me with your eyes
Secure me in your arms
Warm me with your fire
And take me home

I see you with my eyes closed
I feel you with my skin untouched
I dream you when I’m awake
And hear you in unspoken words
I taste you with my lips unkissed
I receive you when I breathe
I dance you in the steps I take
And embrace you with my arms unfilled
I meet you in my heartbeat

When our paths parted
we walked forward
on our own paths
through woods of darkness
Autumn leaves were falling
Through cold winter days
and aching marshland
Though we kept the sun
in our hearts
And we planted our seeds
watered our strength
with our tears
And from mud
new flowers arose
Green plants grew
along the path
And we walked parallel,
it seemed
And we both went far
away and out of sight
in foreign lands and
to places unknown
But as we walked forward
our paths intertwined

So take your wings

Far from here
We’ll leave this story,
leave the pain
And seek a shelter
in our dreams
Take your wings, my love
It’s time
Come fly with me

Beyond the words
Out of lines
of a story
too absurd

Let me make up
new dreams

I could even make up

I ride my wild horses
through the dark woods
Where thorns and needles
split open old wounds
And rain falls hard upon me
Shadows all around me
And I loose my hands
As there isn’t a use
in pulling the reins
Oh wild horses
Where are you going
Is it the untamed fire
that inflames you
even more?
Now the raging fears
have free rein
I seek for my heart
to guide me
on this wild ride
out of the maze

My eyes long to be locked
with yours
My hand longs to be held
by its equivalent
My fire longs to be stirred up
by the flame in your heart
My breath longs to be
moved by your air
My arms long to be filled up
with all that you are
My water longs to flow
through your river
My body longs to merge
with your sacred temple
Every piece of me
longs to be completed
by pieces of you

My dear king, where are you
I drink my glass of wine
in the shades of trees
of the courtyard
protected by the castle walls
And I look out for you
over the town,
the river and the hills
While a summer breeze
blows through my head
and strokes my cheeks
And I could conquer worlds now
and create by my poetry
My sight is so clear
My army so strong
But would it matter
as my glass is half full
And you did not yet appear?
Would it matter
That the flags are raised,
the cannons are loaded,
the table’s set,
and I toast to us
even though
There is only one glass
And there is just me
and the endless horizon
to gaze at?
Yes it matters
that the sun is shining
the king is always expected
And although my glass is empty
My veins are filled
with glowing warmth
As the throne of a king
is in a queen’s heart

I throw a flower into the air
and it takes a free flight
before it lands in the water
and the river takes it
And I give it to the river
All that is not mine
I am in motion
though my feet remain
on the riverbank
And even my strongest
heart’s desire
I give it to the river
River, will you take care
While I find ground
on solid land
And I trust you are not far
as I’m not far either
and the water will guide us
to find the harbour
of common ground

Tonight white birds fly over Lisbon
to reconcile heaven and earth
and bring peace
between your heart and mine
And while the church bells
of the cathedral ring
The flying messengers
come to sing
That all is safe and well
and forgiven

has been cleared

to this up-tempo beat
Let our heads forget and forget
till we only have
this empty space
of sounds and footsteps

till there’s nothing left
but movement
but action
but vibrating tunes
Let us dance, dance, dance
As though we are
undisturbed
disentangled
from a reality

what do you see there from above?
Do you see two hearts lighting,
two earthly stars that shine as one?
Do you see them looking up to you
As though they seek their other half?

in warm days of
late Spring
In brief encounters
In crowded places
In the quietness
of parks
I long for them
in short,
moonless nights
In dreams
without sleep
In the mirrors of
store windows
I try to catch
their gaze
Since my eyes feel empty
Now I don’t see
their reflection
in yours

Hear the whisper in the wind
that is blowing from the west
Bringing hopeful messages
of new beginnings
Its strong breath
stirs up the fires once more
Out of ashes rises the Phoenix
Since nothing is set
And all is always changing
The wind of the east
that once blew you far away from me
has changed direction
and will one day bring you back

Or do I go too fast
My words move even
far ahead of me
as I run tirelessly
towards my dreams
I turn around
And my love,
you are behind
What are you waiting for?
Do you see
what’s on the horizon
radiating there for us?
Do you see
the golden sun
and the fields of infinity?
Or do you see
the birds along the path
the little stones
that crack
underneath your feet
and is it that
what makes you go
slowly but graciously?
Do I need to slow down
Or do you need to go faster?
Maybe the road I choose
will have some curves
and at the end we will arrive
at the same time?

I shed for you
Rivers of aching liquid
that flow from my eyes
into my pen and clot
on the paper
The page is a blank pool
that has absorbed
a still life of pain
Each teardrop
is a witness of
how you are present
in absence
Of how the love
flows out of my eyes

It is a day
on which a warm breeze strokes
my arms and face
The air is expectant,
zooming and dancing
The roses opened their hearts
to expose themselves
to my gaze
And I show myself

If only the roses could talk

The tower does not reach up into the sky
but descends down into the ground
A spiral staircase leads me
into the underworld of darkness
Inside the womb of mother earth I die
I take off my old self
at the bottom of the dark, moist cave
And then slowly I rise
Rebirth my renewed me
I emerge from the labyrinths of my own depths
Journey towards the daylight
Up into your radiant mystery

That block the water from flowing
The river keeps its tales unrevealed
And I am lost for words
I want to swim in your depths
Get drown in the waters of your heart
Float in your ocean
Your current will lead me
back to my words

My feet sink deep into the earth

Sand slips through my fingers
While the wind blows its own

Salty tears and bitter thoughts
The horizon is a line to cross,
a misty spot in future
The boat leaves a trail

heaven came to earth
Flowers bloomed,
birds serenaded,
the sun shined
All celebrated
your unique expression of life
Angels blew their horn
and spread the word that
you had arrived
You, free spirit
that came flying from above,
held within the seeds
of so many songs yet to be sung
You were born to be love
and be loved

Or is it blind trust

A tree of all times
Planted long time ago
Its base unshakable
Survived the turmoil
of ages in this town
Each grain tells another story
Holds another layer
Though its crown still grows
and its leaves renew
and blossom
This tree
Older than we are
Wiser than wise
Will even survive

As it will come
In its own time,

yet holds the new roses inside
As nature gives birth to its fruits

Morning glamour glows
The soothing of the dawn
King Sun rises out of the dark
and seats on heaven’s throne
While the angels scatter their magic
upon courageous believers
I pray across the ocean
May the waves of my new day
wash your nightly worries away
and cradle you into the realm of your dreams

Fairies do not walk,
they fly
Unrooted in the earth,
earthed in the sky
If the path ahead
is yet unclear
They know,
Of trunks that block the road
their castles can be made

fairies hide behind the trees

Tall trees reach out with their peaks
majestically into the sky
A magpie couple cuddles
on their bench of branches
The sparrows sing their songs
in a play of call and answer
While wood nymphs appear
Giggling in between bare trees
As Autumn took their coat of leaves

On a carpet of brown and green
Silent thoughts, open ears

Chasing clouds
Shadows gather
The dark shoots
its arrows of fear
and haunts hearts
that lack faith
The Moon of March
holds memories
of a cold and distant Winter
Though the night
carries the seed
of the day

The light can only be seen
because there is darkness

in misty clouds
For no one to see
Erasing her trails
Her inner landscape
full of caves
In which she hides
Scars and treasures
Behind closed doors
unexpressed words
are a knot in her throat
A wall to protect
becomes a wall
that divides
Though at the window
of her heart
