The Chocolate Girl

When I write, I need to eat chocolate
Where love is my spiritual fuel,
Chocolate fuels me earthy

Brown or white or heavy dark
It all blissfully explodes in my mouth
And then lands in my stomach

It’s the chocolate that keeps me going
When my body has a hard time
to keep up with all the inspiration
that comes to my mind
When my heart wants to fly too much
It’s the chocolate that keeps me grounded

Sometimes it’s like
I am of chocolate myself
When your tongue
touches me, I melt
And I am earthy
and heavenly tasty

In My Wild River

In my wild river
I circulate around you
I twist and whirl
And kiss

The waves I make
Take you in
Fluid you are
You flow into me

And the water moves
It rises and falls
It entwines and entices
Thirsty we are

We drink
We drown in each other
Until the wild river
whirls even higher
And then waves us
breathless
back to the land

I See You

When you dance before my eyes
Or hide behind locked doors
I see you

When my eyes are covered
Or the night leaves you in the dark
I see you

When you are miles away
And the ocean in between
seems endless
I see you
by the eyes of love
and the light of the soul
that captures your heart

I see you
Even when you can’t see
yourself no more

Wise

My wise man, my fairy man,
Shaman of the woods
I don’t need to tell you what to do
Your well of wisdom lies within
Your heart knows more
than your mind can think of

As wise is the man who feels deep
Who dreams with his eyes wide open
Who can see the tiny details on the ground
The big picture in the sky
Who can foresee
what is yet out of sight
But what is written in the stars

Who can hear the whisper in the wind
that comes to bring his music
Who can read what I wrote him in his heart

Wise, as you taught me the most valuable lesson
You taught me how to love
A love that is wise in itself

Let Magic Work

My love, close your eyes
and I will meet you there
Do you see me
I smile at you, by your side
Come hold my hand
We run together
While we enter our wonderland

We make the sky blue,
we bring Spring in the air
We have roses all around
We live in our white home
in the Dutch countryside

In the morning I wake you up with my kisses
And at night you kiss me to sleep
We live our dreams together
And we dream it all real

Our eyes make love
And our bodies follow
I dance to your heartbeat
And you move along with me

And rabbits play together
Horses gallop
Flowers receive their bees
And birds nest and cuddle

Do you see
the infinite possibilities
If we only let our magic work
and we believe?

We Make A Rainbow

We shine our light
into the tears we shed
and make a rainbow of our own
To have a stairway to heaven
And walk the colours of life
In all the different shades

We make a rainbow in the sky
and honour our tears
So we will never forget
How deep we went and
from how far we came
But rain and sun
Both witnessed our love
And together they hold the hope

Do The Opposite

If you feel like you’re stuck
And you don’t know what to do
So you think it’s better not to move
And to lie in your bed
Just do the opposite and dance

If you feel like you want to retreat
to make yourself small
Then reach out and expand

If you feel like all is dark
And you hit rock bottom
Rise and shine your light
Illuminate the darkness

If you are afraid
to take your steps
Just look the monster
into its eyes
And do it anyway

If you feel like it isn’t safe
to love
And love will break you in the end
Love even more
Heal yourself with love
and make a new beginning

If you think this poem is not worth
publishing
Embrace all your art
Just give it its right to exist
And put it out in the world

Fervent

It was often on evenings that we met
When songs were sung, music was played
In the intimacy of the night
That made the lights in our eyes
shine even brighter
when they connected

And then later we met in letters
in the intimacy of covered, fervent words
That always seemed to long for more
Dictated by greedy eyes and greedy hands
But often didn’t say what they wanted
to say or wanted to ask for

How those evenings long to be filled
with meeting eyes again
And how those letters long to be written
by hearts meeting in uncovered, fervent words

Calm After The Storm

I’ll stay still
To be your calm after the storm
I’ll hold the space
With my beacons of light
in my hands
And the home fire within

My heart envisions you
emerge from the storm
As clouds will be lifted
And skies will be cleared

The veils are so thin now
Time and space disappear
I feel you, can almost
hear your thoughts
And in my dreams
you come to visit me

And then one day
the wind will take its final breath
And will blow you home
In calmness I’ll receive you

©RoseGirl2018

Behind Your Wall

You once told me about the wall
around your heart
That could let no one in
But my love, you forget
I have my fairy wings
So I can just fly over it
and land
in your pulsing centre
And then together
we’ll make it very cosy
Behind that wall
in the castle of your heart

©RoseGirl2018

Uncomplicate

Let’s uncomplicate things
Let’s unpuzzle it all
Let’s make it very simple
and crystal clear
Just feel the love in your heart
And then tell me
What is the difficulty?

©RoseGirl2018

Mind Mastery

Mind, you can jump high
You can creep low
You can shout, you can yell
tell me all your stories
and scenarios
From my quiet space of love
I will only smile
and observe you
And when you jumped
and yelled enough,
I will take you by the hand
and will align you with my heart

©RoseGirl2018

Heart Guard

If your fears arise
Your mind monsters scare you
And your thoughts attack
Let me be your heart guard
That protects you
I will stand in between
And will chase them away
So you can breathe and relax

Love Needs To Be Chosen

Love is not a passive word
Love is not dormant
But it’s a fierce, powerful life force
And she needs to be actively chosen
Over power, over fear,
over hatred
Over all the confusion
our minds put on us

Love found us
Brought us in motion
And now
we need to choose
to let her move
mountains for us

©RoseGirl2018

Hands On Hips

I take your hands
And put them on my hips
They naturally fit there
They have their imprint
on my soft, warm skin

Tender passion dances me,
moves me
Your hands on my hips
direct me
Or are my hips directing you?

©RoseGirl2018

Nothing But Love

Come take my hand
Do you see that door over there
Do you see its light inviting us
And how it marks a new beginning?
It’s our way out
And it’s our way in

It has been a long journey
But we survived,
we stood our ground,
love triumphed

We walk through the door
We leave everything behind
and move forward
with nothing but love

©RoseGirl2018

Commitment

Is it the word commitment
that scares you?
A thought that ties you?
But my love, our hearts are
already fully committed
to each other ever since
As they beat in harmony
and are bonded in love
Like our footsteps are committed
to the earth by gravity
The way our eyes locked
and married us
The way our arms entwined
and united us
What belongs that commits
It’s only your mind
that is scared
to commit itself to your heart

©RoseGirl2018

Proud Of You

When I saw you
-so beautiful, so sweet
and so much you –
I felt like a peacock
And I lifted my head,
my eyes shined
As I showed
all of my feathers
that adorned me
And my most
precious, eye-catching gem
it was you

©RoseGirl2018

Patient Endurance

A tree that braves the seasons
A flower that takes its time
to grow and to blossom
A robin that makes the best of Winter
As it knows it will find Spring in the end
A blackbird that breeds in her nest
and waits for her young ones to be born
With patient endurance
I stand in the eye of the storm
I hold my vision with strength
As I know, our best time is yet to come

©RoseGirl2018

Snow White

Snow has covered the world
with a layer of purity
In white stillness the Sunday morning is frozen
And I am like Snow White
I wait for my death-like sleep to be broken
and to be brought back to life
by a kiss of my prince

©RoseGirl2018

444 Poems

I wrote 444 poems
in which I rhymed and sighed
Longed and cried
Smiled and celebrated
Serenaded and painted
my love for you
in all its colours
And you still doubt it?
Then please tell me
how many poems
I still need to write
Until you will believe

The Way You Say My Name

Never have I felt so truly seen
and recognized
The way you give sound to it
And gently say each letter
How your voice embraces me,
caresses me, pronounces me
And let me feel the true meaning
of who I am far beyond the word
No one has ever said it the way
you say it
The way you say my name

Extraordinary Things

It is often at ordinary moments
When I cook, ride my bike
Walk in town
Or wait in a line
The love for you,
The thought of you
just comes over me
When I think of
How you looked into my eyes
Or walked by my side
How you touched my arm lightly
and smiled
How you embraced me with tender arms

It is often at those ordinary moments
I remember those extraordinary things

The Value Of The Wild Rose

Previous: The Great Tall Tree And The Small Wild Rose

The small wild rose
hidden in the grass,
is her value less
than the value of
the great tall tree
with all the birds
as his admirers
on his branches?

Does her life
has lack of purpose
as she failed
to reach the eyes
of all the birds
and her impact does not seem
that wide and big
as the impact
the great tall tree
seems to have?

Or is it her purpose
to just be the wild rose
And value is not defined
by numbers of admirers?

And is it then just
a missed chance for the birds
that they don’t notice
the small wild rose
And everyone who does see
her beauty is lucky?

Ship Lost Its Way

The ship sails
on rough waters
And waves try
to pull it down
While it battles its way
towards the west
it lost track of
the shore

And now the ship
is lost on the ocean
Though in its wood
its name ‘Amor’
is still engraved
And on its map
its destination
is still marked
as ‘you’

All We Need To See

I dance with you, my love
And we make it a dance of joy
We make it a dance of laughter
Our faces that radiate our love

And we don’t move too slowly
Or we don’t go too fast
But we dance our perfect rhythm
At our perfect pace

And all is alright
We don’t turn around
We don’t look behind
As I have you in front of me
And you have me before your eyes
And that’s all we need to see
That’s all we need to dance

©RoseGirl2018

The Little Lights

The waters seem to dance
Our emotions flow into one another
An undercurrent of desire
makes waves
and moves us together
We shine the shimmer
on the surface
The little lights travel
between your heart and mine

He Will Pick Her Up

And it’s time now
He cannot wait any longer
He needs to have her
He needs to take her
She needs to be in his arms
And everywhere on his body
In his imagination
He already made the move so often
But then his feet made him stop
Or was it his head that took over
But now his soul finally gives green light
And the stars have the perfect pattern
And even if he would stumble,
even if he would fall
He knows she will lift him up
All the struggle, all the suffering
It needs to stop
It’s time now
He will pick her up
And will go on road with her

Eight Letters, Three Words

Eight letters in a line,
you can make three words of it
And then build a sentence
that says ‘I love you’
They are just letters
that sound superficial
As they have been wrongly used
by too many people
Empty characters
They didn’t give me any grip
As I fell right through
the letters and out of words
in the space in between
Hopelessly and straight
into their deepest meaning
When I fell in love with you

The Magic Of The Irish Flute

Previous: The Hedgehog Girl

Who is coming there
It’s the shaman of the woods
It’s the fairy man
With his Irish flute
Looking for his hedgehog girl
She made herself so small
She rolled into a tight ball
And then, off the earth she fell
Down into the ground she went

But where is she
As she can’t be seen no more
So he takes his Irish flute
and starts to play his sounds of love
And she wakes up and hears the call
Her ears, her heart bewitched
And she begins to unroll
She goes up while she follows
his magical tunes

And then she sees him, her own fairy man
She asks ‘why did you come for me,
how did you find me
as you were supposed to forget’

‘My love, the Irish flute can’t forget about its muse
It can’t forget about the one that
breathes the fire into its music
And wherever you may go and hide,
I’ll always find you in your dreams
I’ll always find you in both of our hearts

And now rise again
Don’t make yourself so small
You don’t need your spines
As you have a big light
in your heart to guide
and to protect you’

A Certainty

Your hand in mine
And we walk through the world
We see walls crumbling
We see illusions shattering
And we climb mountains together
We walk through rain showers of teardrops
We hear thunder voices
And our shadows are following us

But still
Your hand in mine
It is your hand that keeps me going
Your hand that comforts me
As we walk through nights without sleep
And days with shaken dreams
We see safe houses breaking down
We see monsters on our path
But we chase the clouds together
We reach for castles in the sky
And we’ve learned to dance on ruins

And your hand in mine
It’s a certainty
In a world where nothing is
certain no more

A Journey Of Soul Love

On this sacred journey of love
I need to believe
what is not touchable
I need to believe
what I have seen in your eyes
The truth I know in my soul

I need to fully trust myself
Trust my own heart
I need to fully surrender
And find this higher faith
Live this higher love
Despite my mind,
Despite the facts

It’s not an easy task, my love
I am blindfolded
And sometimes
it’s all just so dark
What I yet cannot see,
yet cannot touch,
yet cannot hear
I need to find it inside
Hand it over to God
And keep moving forward

I need to go down on my knees
Fall through my thoughts
Break through old patterns,
Leave old pain and old beliefs behind
To find this pure, true love,
To find you on the other side

©RoseGirl2018

Having It All

Let the wind come
Let the rain fall
We will dance without clothes
We will thankful kiss the ground

Even if we need to wander
With the sky as our roof
With no other belongings
Than each other and our hearts

We will still have it all
since we have the love

©RoseGirl2018

Farts Of Poetry

I write so much now
I almost write about every fart
of our journey together
Here’s to the free creative expression
Every feeling, every experience
I catch it in lines of poetry
And then,
Even in a fart I’ll find the beauty

©RoseGirl2018

Melancholic Hope

I feel like you.
I write melancholic poems now
Like in the past, you wrote melancholic songs
It seems like we’ve switched roles
Before, in my poems
I held the vision and the hope
But now you seem to have it
Where I drown in sadness
Can we do it fifty-fifty?
And share the hope
and melancholy equally?
Or better, we just skip
the melancholic drama completely
And we only keep it
positive and optimistic

©RoseGirl2018

Melancholic Poetry

And she looks through the window
Of her house of melancholic poetry
And she longs for blue skies
She waits for green lights
As her heart feels on hold
Though her mind won’t
take a break

At night her beloved comes
to visit her in her dreams
He sings her his songs
But in the morning he’s gone
Leaving her the clouds
that cover the sun
And her melancholic poetry

Black Crows And White Birds

And there are the black crows of the past again
I thought they had already gone
Though they come fly over
to stir old wounds and hurt
I hear them caw to me issues
of rejection, of abandonment,
of exclusion and
the fear of losing love

But I heal, I clean and I release
All they have polluted
As they come to test me
How strong I stand in love
And if I can believe despite everything

The black crows and the ego birds,
the false beliefs,
all the hurtful thoughts
I let them fly, I set them free
And then I wait
for the white birds
to come in
