Those thousand goodbyes
that make me die inside
every time
when fears and thoughts
disconnect me from you
only to find out
that in fact, love
never abandoned me

The morning dew
brings tears
to the world
A squirrel hops
across the grass
Birds sing longing songs
in the trees
And as I think of you
my arms reach up
towards the sky
through the fog
to catch the sun

I will be there, my love
at our fated meeting
I hear the calling
and respond
even if I have to walk
through dark nights
even if the road is long
and I have to climb mountains
even if I’m scared, exhausted
and disheartened
I will go on
and be there
when the church bells ring
when the day has come
that the stars align
on a date written in our hearts
when we have our appointment
I will show up
for myself, for you
for us

with soft whispers
of warm breath
on your skin
as fingers
trace lines
towards a
happy end

Mowers make a lot of noise
as they mow anything
that doesn’t serve no more
and cut away
old stories and thoughts
Until from within,
from stillness,
the song of free birds
can be heard again

to be shattered
in fact, hasn’t been broken
but is always whole
as it is held together
by love

Above the earth,
above the thoughts,
the stars still light up
the story of us
and connect the dots
between me here

a city full of people

as it rains teardrops
let me fly high above the clouds

and carry me to my beloved

But wherever it takes me

but still tries to move gracefully
to find her way home

Or is she watching you
how your heart is wounded
but is still beating determined
and strong

Does she watch,
do you watch
just to see if you still
have each other
in sight
