Did the light catch us
When we held hands
I looked at you
You said ‘yes now’
And we jumped
together
into the unknown

I see white all around us
Like a blank page
on which a new story
is eager to start
And its main characters
just both came alive

They say time is a great healer
As it gradually fades out strong feelings
And polishes sharp edges
But how come every day
I only miss you more

This heavy ‘I miss you’
that even creeps into my pen
And makes me unable to lift it
and to write

At the end of the day
I walk in our garden of love
with a watering can
full of thoughts, songs and poetry

And I do not want to water
the weeds of fear, of doubt
and confusion
But I water and nurture
the flowers of love and hope

What you give your attention to
grows
What we focus on we get more of

If we can’t see the whole picture
As half is hidden and not shown to us
If there’s a curtain of fog,
an incomplete puzzle
And we hold single pieces
in our hand
We can only have faith and trust
There’s a divine plan behind everything
It’s all being sorted out from above

Think of an ocean
Think it as big as you can
And then imagine it even larger
Think of the depth of the water
How endless deep it goes
Its clear blue that reflects the light
Think of all the treasures
that the ocean holds underwater
The coral, all the diamonds
In the most beautiful colours
And then think of this ocean
as my love for you

At times longing comes
in a wave that rises
Water that takes and pulls me
wildly to your shore

And sometimes it is a fire
within me
A burning desire
My body that wants to
feel and touch yours

Sometimes the longing
is solid like earth
Grounded in knowing
that you are mine

And at times longing
is subtle like air
it takes me high up
and let me dream
on my cloud

I am your moon tonight
And shine my love over you
My soft silver light shimmers
in your waters
And touches your depths
Just lay down silently
and bathe in my glow
Let it infuse you
And feel how we merge
from inside

And the lioness walks alone
on her path through the savannah
of life
As she doesn’t want to be held
hostage by other people’s belief systems
But she chooses freedom instead
and to honour and stand for the truth
within her
She knows that it means at times
you need to move away
and walk in solitude

But look, lioness, look around you
How the sun smiles, how the birds sing for you, how the trees bow
Your beloved walks with you in heart always
How the whole universe conspires
to support you
For the bravest of soul are those
who choose love over and over

Instead of ‘I miss you’
They say ‘Tu me manques’ in French
which means:
‘You are missing from me’

You are missing from my arms, my love
You are missing from my eyes
You are missing from my skin
I’m incomplete without you
You make my eyes see
You make my arms filled
My skin sense
My soul whole

Tu me manques, mon chéri
For you are never missing from my heart

Many memories just fade away
Or become vague figures
in the distance
Blurry images that can’t be grasped
no more
In time they slowly lose their trace

But the memories I have of you
all have their vivid imprint
in the now
How you looked at me
The words you said
How your arms felt around me

For it is the heart that knows
The heart that remembers
the true essence of love
and how you are stored in it

when others try to hurt
and invade it
when they don’t see its beauty
but say
there’s something wrong with it:
Too sensitive, too strange

when I run away from it
when I don’t see its beauty
and think the others are right

Please keep it safe and protect it,

Hold it in your loving arms
Until I return to it
and own it, make it again

My love, let’s meet
in my dreams tonight
I’ll see you
right after the threshold
of sleep
We’ll dance together
in my lucid wonderland
And we’ll turn
the starry sky
into our spotlights

so tightly,
to take control over the story,
to rationally construct the words,
overthink what will be next
and have a grip on every line

But just let your muse
naturally flow into it
Take a step back into faith
Give space to the divine
to do its work
And let the story unfold itself
right before your eyes

When I get polluted
by what other people think of me
by their actions, energy and words
or by my own fear-based beliefs,
I take a shower with our love
and let its healing, clearing waters
run over me
until I am again nothing but
my pure naked truth

We look at the collage that is you
The moving images and
the ones that are still
In black and white and in colours
Pieces you wrote,
the ones you sang
Pieces of pain, fear, joy
anger, guilt or shame
Pieces you once removed
out of self-doubt and rejection
The pieces you hid
We take them all and put them
back together
Honour every part,
give them a place to exist
within you and in this world
For all of you is so welcome
to be seen and to be heard
by me

and close my eyes
nothing that is more comfortable
than to leave the harbour of my consciousness and
float away on the sea of sleep
by an ‘I love you’

True love is like Spring
No matter how cold and destroying
Winter has been
It has the power to melt away
the snow
and bring warmth
To let new planted seeds grow
To rise out of hibernation
and awake the colours,
To perfume the world with
the soft sweet smell of hope
To let desires blossom, hearts flower
To make birds sing and fly
And bring male and female
together

Let me sink in you
So deeply

And protect me from the world

Your endless love my bottom

And like a caterpillar

I’m from another planet,
They don’t see me, don’t hear me

My heart used the trampoline
of love
It jumped out of my chest
Up in the air
And fast beat its way to you

To land next to you in your bed

that is wide open for you, my sun
And although sometimes,
if the wind of fear blows,
cloudy thoughts appear in the sky
or sorrow showers
that make its petals close a little
It always naturally opens itself
again to catch your light

Where everything is so familiar

Vulnerable and transparent

People can come close

But it is not to touch

What can I trust
if I look around with confused eyes
And a pained heart

Are you real? I ask the shadows,
the movies, my thoughts, my fears,
the scenarios, I ask the stories

Are you real? I ask the clouds,
I ask the wind, the words
that have been said,
that have been written
and the unspoken

Are you real? I ask the images
and the facts, I ask the past
And I even ask my tears

But before they can respond
they disappear
Until I ask love
that is the only one
that answers:

Yes I am real

The petals of the rose hang down,
Hit by heavy waters
Soul pain goes as deep as the roots
And it breaks the heart
Soon the rose will be drowned

How can the rose be saved
Can we hold up umbrellas of hope
above her
My love, can you sing a bit louder
about the blue skies that are on their way
Let your sounds plant seeds in her heart
that will give her strength to carry on

And now, I am like dead
In a coffin I am buried
