Understanding Duality In Order To See Above

My strength, I have gained it
Not just by walking through sunny,
peaceful fields of flowers and bees
But through brutal battles and dark nights
When merciless swords were pointed at me
and stabbed wherever they could

I have gained it while being beaten,
kicked, tortured and locked up
I have gained it in moments
of deep despair while facing death

I gained strength, not in my armour,
my muscles or in my masks
and defense
But in the openness and softness of my heart
For only by understanding the darkness
I could truly understand love and light

  2. A very different and reflective post, away from your current writing. I imagine you have great strength and that is in large part for having faced and overcome the trials and tribulations of this world. Thank you for posting, it is nice to hear of this aspect of you 🙂

    1. Thank you! I have written more reflective pieces in the past, although not so much about the violence and hardships I went through. Love is far more inspiring and interesting 🙂
      And I very much believe in the power of spreading love and compassion to help change the world.
      However, I don’t really think in advance about what I will write. I write every day in the moment, just what my soul guides me to write and what flows from my pen 🙂

      1. That last sentence is fascinating. This morning I sat down to write the third in a series about the four elements, instead, I wrote the small piece ‘To the enchantress who brings dreams’ without any thought, I literally just sat down and wrote. The words I decided came from the heart, but what triggered such an outflow I have no idea 🙂 🙂

      2. Writing can be so fascinating! Actually, I write like that all the time 🙂 All my 900 poems on my blog came just like a flow straight from my heart. Almost in a trance sometimes. Often at the end of the day I can’t even remember what I have written on that particular day 🙂
