When I see grey skies

Meet me by the river
in the homeland of our dreams
where things flow
where things sing
what shall be and so it is

Where we don’t need
to miss each other
where the future beckons us
with its sun
that shines upon our tears
and makes a rainbow
for the present moment

Connect with me
with every breath
every thought
Feel me in your heart
as I feel you
Hold on to me
as I hold on to you
We float
on a rough sea
but are saved by love

A strong wind blows
and through the open window
finds its way inside
And I sit still
within the movement
my eyes closed
to see you

And then it’s like
another window opens
Desire whirls
within the heart
within the body
and makes me fly
through the window
to merge with you

And we make a palace
of our memories together
where we store
only the good ones,
look at all the diamonds,
the treasures
and dance in its ballroom
among the gold, alchemized
when we met
Where we remember
when we look
in each other’s eyes,
who we truly are

And in another realm
I cry with you together
in your arms
about all that happened
the ocean between us
missing each other
an empty bed
longing that hurts
And as we dry
each other’s tears
we smile as we know
as long as we love
as long as we cry
together
we’re never truly apart

Early in the morning
while I think of you
I watch the rain fall
And despite the bad weather,
the grey, depressing sky
I hear a bird sing
Just like my heart, the love
will never be silenced
even if it storms, thunders,
or rains,
regardless of heat or cold
it will always sing its song

I have dreams that keep me awake
That keep me alive and on track
Dreams that don’t allow me
to close my eyes and lean back
The dreams I have seen
and that can’t be unseen
Dreams of love, of me and you
that don’t allow me to go back
to sleep
Dreams that have awaken me
for good

I could ride the waves
of a rough sea today
waves of anger, frustration,
fear, sadness,
hopelessness and pain
But instead I choose to stay
in the calm water of love

Instead of trusting fear,
ego narratives and
worst case scenarios,
what about trusting
the bright shining vision,
the good, the positive
what about trusting love

Crows fly over us
Freer and lighter
closer to the sun
than we are

And they bring us
an omen of change
movement and good fortune
with their intelligent foresight
they see it all

My love, may we see
what those crows see
May we fly along with them
lighthearted and free

Our heart that guides us
If we follow the feelings
of bliss and of joy
if we follow the love
it will bring us home

Yes I can stand strong on my own
But just like the moon that needs
the sun to shine
I need you to witness me when I rise
Your energy around me to ground me
and to feel safe to open
like a flower to the world
I need you to hold and protect me
when I’m naked and vulnerable
I need you to just be you
and to stand by my side

And I watch the thunder
and lightning in the sky
Summer heat
Electric love
Emotions explode
It storms, rain falls
and desire erupts
between me and you
Water cleanses
so we can rise
and I free myself
from chains of fear
And the freer I become
the more my heart
flies with you

When the waters
are stormy outside
I always have
a safe haven inside
in my dreams and thoughts
about you
and a safe place in my heart
in our love

And we have both often fallen so hard
but got back up
We died so many times and came back to life
only because of a promise, a dream,
the eternal thread between us,
the light that we saw in each other’s heart
that pulled us up and out

I see you sitting outside
with your back against a fence
among white roses of hope
and peace
as though you honor me

A guitar on your lap
for there’s so much music in you
your face, your smile, your skin
your gaze so pure, so soft
You have the look of your heart,
the look of love,
the look of you

Sometimes she is so afraid
to lose him
so afraid that he doesn’t love her
no more

But then she sees him smiling
before her
and hears him saying:
feel the truth in your heart

A hot summer day
the heat of desiring you
turns into
lightning and thunder
passionate fireworks

that messages can’t be sent
If the internet would fall apart
that you couldn’t read my words,
my poems

let you look into my soul,
that I couldn’t see yours
for we communicate always
and anyway
through our hearts

and you have these
conversations with yourself
tell your you how beautiful he is
tell him that all is safe and well
that he is loved beyond measure
and is never truly alone
That he is carried by the earth,
the wind, the water
inspired by inner fire
and shined upon
by the moon and sun
talk to yourself, say the things
that I would say to you

on a pillow of love
like I lay down my head
on your chest

And the wind that blows
through the open window
is like your breath
that calms, that strokes
that sings to me

The moon is like the light
in your eyes
watching over me

And I listen
to the sound
of my own heartbeat
like it is yours
for you are in there

And then it’s like
it’s not just a song
it’s not just a poem
a sweet lullaby
it’s not just me
but it’s you that is here
in so many things

to be able to heal it
