into the dark
to the one she holds so dear
hoping that the night
will catch her words
and will fill the void
with loving dreams

There are a lot of things
my ego doesn’t understand
yet against all odds
my soul asks me to hope
and to trust

In the early morning I catch
a last glimpse of the moon
and send up all my love
so as she appears on your side
of the world now
and you look up, like me,
she can glow it to you

At night when my mind is in
overdrive and produces
its aches and fears
Lonely thoughts run
in all directions
too unfocused, too anxious
to make a poem that writes
me into peace,
I find solace in the deep
intimacy of my heart
where I commune with you
as it always poetically beats
for two

When my poems get too sad
and drown in their tears
I put on the music of love
to let them dance
to the tune of hope again

I watch leaves float
wildly around me
as I let the fierceness
of the Autumn wind
pull me out of worries
and fears,
out of self doubts
and headaches
and let it pull me into
the peace of
just loving you

The moment I start to doubt
everything and everyone,
including myself
I uncover the only thing
that is sure:
the love I have for you
in my heart

At night when I lie awake
in my bed
my mind spins a nightmare
with threads of worries
and fears
whereas my heart,
with threads of love,
spins a beautiful dream

A Sunday without sun
is like a day
without glamour
like words
without poetry
it’s like me missing you

Sometimes,
I mute the world,
disconnect from the earth
and put myself
on airplane mode
to fly away with you
in profound silence

I lay my head to rest
on the thought of you
and let its softness
kiss me goodnight

Keep dancing, my love
even if our feet are tired
our hearts never are
even if the world around us
collapses
we build up
even if others cannot hear
our music
as long as we can, we dance
love into existence

I was awake in my dream
last night
as I found myself with you
and then fell asleep
in the reality of the morning
as I saw my bed empty

is love

Every thought of you
Every word of this poem
will be a step of a ladder
that brings us up
so we can meet
feel, embrace
each other
when we’re above
time and space

A flock of white birds escapes
from within
where they once flew
in the vast sky of imagination
and made airwaves in
heart and body
moving invisibly between
one lover and the other
And now they are set free
into the light
seen, heard and sensed
by the world
to bring hope, to bring love
to bring peace

Raindrops dance
on the skylight
as if, amidst
all the purging,
they still found
a song
of joyful love

When the wind howls
around the house
how much I miss you
and finds every crack
to come in
with its noise and turmoil
I play the symphony
of you and me
always together
always here
and let the wind
howl along with it
in the background

the day awaken
in many sounds and
rising light,
I close my eyes again
to feel two hearts
connect
for you and me,
we still have
a lot to dream

that seems to dance
by itself
Moved by love
while it writes

And if your mind keeps
you busy
thoughts restlessly seek
so many things that draw
your attention
you see all the things
that you don’t like
and there you are
in a wild and chaotic world
then stop for a moment
feel
to find my love

I could focus on the clouds,
the heavy rainfall,
the lightning that tries
to strike me
the mountains that seem to arise
everywhere
barking dogs that attack
the leaves in the wind
that leave behind empty trees
flowers that look dead
But instead, I focus on the everlasting,
free shining sun within the heart
I focus on love

and between us burns high
My eyes long towards the West
and watch the sunset
An explosion of fiery red
in the sky
there where you are

lie from each other
How vast the ocean
How many miles the sky above
How great the distance between
two continents, two bodies
How far time has gone
How far thoughts wander,
how often feelings get lost
Love is the unbreakable bridge
that connects us
and brings us home

A tired mind,
an aching head
only finds rest
on the soft
pillow of love
in the heart

On dark and
desolate days like this
even the dawn
doesn’t seem
to bring any light
but luckily,
we’ve left the light
of our love on

Sing me a soothing song
surround me with your sound
cover me with you
to protect me from
the nagging noise
of the world

When I’m so confused
and doubts and headaches
pop up like ghosts
I say ‘boo’ to chase them away
and use the certainty of love
as my weapon

And when my ego says:
what if
love was never meant for me
what if
shooting stars
won’t take my wishes
up into the heavens
but will let them drift
forever lost in space
what if?

Then I answer:
So what
I’m safe, I’m grateful,
I love and am loved
I feel, I know
as I look up and read
what’s written in the stars
and see you, see my destiny
and all the things the universe
wishes for me

from our skin
from the earth
from our tears
from ‘I miss you’

And we’ll feel,
we’ll embrace
we’ll merge
and make love
with our soul

We’re like the sun and moon
sometimes, we retreat
from the world
and let clouds hide us
But we can never hide
from each other
for high up in the sky
we always have
our own universe together

When my body feels weak
because of too many
waking hours
and headaches,
my heart, that holds us both
closely together always,
beats even stronger
with love

and I count stars,
count ‘loving you’s’
it’s then that I dream
the most

the screaming pain,
silence my raging mind,
silence the world
then I only hear
you and me

that helps me
to love you,
love myself
even more
