It’s a rainy day
and I flow with the water
flow with tears
like a river that discharges
into the sea of love

In the songs I sing
in between the tones
the ebb and flow of sounds
I hear our silent embrace

What if we don’t say anything
but we dance beyond words
further than our memories
where do we end up
there where we began?

If you feel lost, alone and far away
at the sea of your emotions
with its highs and lows
know you are, I am,
the harbor of love is close
it’s that what the sea holds

Sit in silence
close your eyes
journey inwards
and breathe
into your heart
and as you fall
deeper and deeper
into you
fall into me
we’ll fall together
into a universe of love

In a picture of the past
you stand on a balcony
of an old building
in the Netherlands
where I was born
where lions once roared
battles were fought
music was played
life was mourned
and celebrated
And as you look
do you look for me
into the future
with eyes, with arms
that are my home
in a country that wasn’t

Words are the banks
that separate us
Love is the water in between
that fills the gap

Music plays
I play with sounds
and I let you dance through me
as I move and touch my body
I touch you
and I invite life
I invite you to dance me

I tried to get
to the core of love
but instead,
love gets to the core
of me

What is hope
but to feel love
in the midst
of darkness

There was no escape
the storm was everywhere
and I know it left you
wounded and broken
just like me
but in love we are
whole always
so let’s be there

I dance
I circle and swing
among others
on the dance floor
and they might think
I’m on my own
but what they cannot see
is that, in fact,
secretly,
I dance with you

And if the moon
looks down tonight
distance is so relative
as she sees our hearts
touching each other
as they glow
expanding love

Silently I fly with owl
under the almost full moon
the autumn wind beneath
my wings
and as I cross the night,
cross my thoughts
I borrow owl’s eyes
to look through the dark
to clearly see
you

At night when the world has quieted down
the ties to bodies and thoughts
have been loosened
barriers are crossed
then there’s just you and me
in the intimate space of a dream

I dance in soft October light
and set into motion
all the things that need to move
I dance thoughts, dance words
dance the waters of emotions
I dance me, I dance you

I am with autumn
with leaves that fall like teardrops
I am with trees
that show their colours
I am with clouds that hide the sun
I am with mushrooms, chestnuts
and acorns,
But I just wish I was with you

seek the places we were
to only find you here with me
in the now

like a healing hand
on your forehead
to ease your thoughts,
release your pain
to feel my skin of words
and bring me close

It is just love
that doesn’t need my body
to travel to you
and give you a kiss

Do you hear the loud wind
how it stirs up the air
between me and you
as if it knows we’re close now
and we only need a little push
We only need a written word,
a dreamed dream, a sung song
to make our feet go
where our heart is

darkness, anger
or doubt
let there be love
and let love reach
where it has never
been before

all those empty places
where you are not

I’m still awake
my hand reaches out
in the dark
to touch you

And we meet again and again
whispering, longing
in the light of the day,
the dark of the night
any time, any place
those encounters I have
with you in the heart

I will hold you so fully
embrace you so tightly
that all your broken pieces
fall back into place

All the time that has passed
All the days without
when I look back I see
love erased the goodbyes
and made of it
a continuous now

I look at the stars
in the sky
to look for the echos
of your eyes

When I stand before Goliath
with his lies
A sword of truth in my hand
Will you stand behind me,
beside me, within me
for the greatness of love

Ground control to your heart:
Fly high and then even higher
Reach for the stars
As our hearts are connected
by a thread of love
the higher yours goes
it will uplift mine
from the heavy ground too

forget you
as love is
the constant reminder
of you

In the screaming of thoughts
if you don’t know what’s real
or true
there’s only one question to ask
is it the voice of love
or is it the voice of fear

I prick myself on the thorns
of fearful thoughts,
of missing you
meanwhile higher up
the rose of love blooms
untouchable

And I fall through the space
between the thoughts
into the holiness of truth
as I fall into the depth
of the love in the heart
I hear the sacred song
of who we are

Surviving sometimes
just means
being held, cradled,
nourished, protected
by your arms of love
