The Hedgehog Girl

I am a hedgehog girl
And here in the big forest
among the tall trees
I am small
My spines have failed me
I have nothing to protect

And I make myself even smaller
As I roll into a tight ball
Unseen I disappear
Into a hole in the ground
So the world can forget about me
And I can forget about myself
